Wilhelmsen ASA, the Norwegian shipowning and service company, said its
operating income for 1998 was even with 1997’s total of 839 million krone ($107 million),
despite lower profit by Wilhelmsen Lines.
Group revenue rose to 6.091 billion krone ($780 million) from 5.497
billion krone in 1997.
Pretax income rose to 433 million krone from 212 million krone. Net
income fell to 390 million krone from 660 million in 1997, when results
were boosted by an accounting credit.
