Getting ready for ELD-related roadside checks: join us for a Spireon/FreightWaves webinar

Roadcheck Week 2018 is in the books, and the next webinar in the FleetLocate by Spireon/Freightwaves series will focus on preparing drivers and fleets for handling roadside inspections, long after Roadcheck is complete.

The Thursday, June 21 free webinar’s title asks the question: “Do your drivers really know how to handle a roadside inspection?” Answering that question will be David J. Osiecki, the president of Scopelitis Transportation Consulting. Dave was on the other side of the regulatory divide when he started his career in 1986 as a motor carrier safety auditor for the Federal Highway Administration, which later morphed into the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He then spent 20 years at the the American Trucking Associations in Washington, working on behalf of the trucking industry in safety, policy, regulatory and advocacy-related positions. Osiecki rose to Executive Vice President for ATA, and represented the industry before State legislatures, federal agencies, the U.S. Congress and in the national media, including appearances on national network news programs.

Among the topics to be discussed on the webinar will be some of the lessons learned from Roadcheck 2018; actions that drivers and carriers should undertake to prepare for further inspections driven by the April 1 start of hard ELD enforcement; what should go into a “driver letter”; and getting off on the right foot with a roadside inspector.
