USTR to open e-portal for List 3 exclusion requests

Starting Sunday the electronic portal will be available to seek exclusions from Section 301 tariffs on $200 billion worth of goods from China.

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on Sunday will open an electronic portal to request exclusions from Section 301 tariffs covering $200 billion worth of goods from China based on the 2017 import value, USTR announced.
Responses to exclusion requests made on https://exclusions.ustr.gov are due 14 days after the request is posted on the portal, while replies to responses are due no later than seven days after the close of the 14-day response period, or seven days after the posting of a response, USTR said.
Any exclusions will take effect starting with the Sept. 24, 2018, effective date of the $200 billion action and extending one year after publication of the exclusion determination in the Federal Register.
USTR will “periodically” announce decisions on pending requests, the agency said.
The USTR announcement summarizes the information to be entered on the exclusion request form.
