TCA opens application process for Scholarship Fund

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has opened up applications for its Scholarship Fund. The fund awards up to $6,250 per year, per full-time college student.

More than 50 students received assistance from the TCA Scholarship Fund for the 2019-2020 school year, with the fund’s Board of Trustees approving over $150,000 in support.

To qualify for the program, a student must be in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and be attending an accredited, four-year college or university as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior.

The scholarship is open to children, grandchildren or spouses of an employee or an employee of a TCA member company or an independent contractor affiliated with a TCA member company, or that individual’s child, grandchild, or spouse.

For more information on the scholarship program, go to www.truckload.org/scholarships.

Applications will close on July 10, 2020, and winners of the scholarships will be announced in August.

To apply, the candidate must:

  • Submit a complete online application to the Truckload Carriers Association;

  • Send the association an official transcript of all courses and grades from Spring 2020;

  • Send the association a course schedule (if available) for Fall 2019;

  • Provide the name, department, address, and telephone number of the person at the college or university to which the scholarship check should be sent for disbursement; and

  • Send the association a headshot of a 300 dpi resolution or over 1 MB in size.
