TACA TO REDUCE BAF, CAF    The Trans Atlantic Conference Agreement said Tuesday it would reduce its bunker adjustment factor and currency adjustment factor, effective April 1.
   The surcharges were adjusted based upon monitored fuel prices and currency relationships over the December-February period.
   For transatlantic traffic to and from U.S. Atlantic and Gulf coast ports, the bunker surcharge will be $39 per TEU and $78 per FEW, down from $55 per TEU and $110 per FEU. For shipments to and from U.S. Pacific Coast ports, the surcharge is $78 per TEU and $118 per FEU, down from $83 per TEU and $166 per FEU.
   The currency adjustment factor will be reduced 7 percent for both eastbound and westbound tariffs, TACA said.
   TACA carrier members are Atlantic Container Line, Hapag-Lloyd, Mediterranean Shipping Co., Maersk Sealand, NYK, OOCL and P&O Nedlloyd.
