MAERSK LOGISTICS EXPANDS INTERNET-BASED SERVICES    Maersk Logistics has launched an Internet-based tool for exporters in its M*Power suite of products.
   M*Power Shipper makes the purchase orders issued by the receiver of goods immediately visible on the Internet for the shipper. The purchase order then forms the basis for all processes that need to be coordinated and executive by the shipper before the cargo physically leaves the country by whatever mode of transportation, Maersk Logistics said.
   “The majority of the information used in the export process has already been received electronically from the consignee by Maersk Logistics,” said Alan G. Bartel, project manager. “By introducing importer and exporter specific report capabilities within M*Power Shipper, the process time and staff requirements for preparing export documentation will be reduced significantly.”
