HANJIN SWITCHES JAPANESE PORTS ON PNX 1 SERVICE    Hanjin Shipping is switching from Yokohama to Tokyo as its westbound port of call on the United Alliance’s weekly transpacific PNX 1 service.
   Currently the PNX service calls at Tokyo eastbound and Yokohama westbound. The first sailing westbound to Tokyo will be made by the 2,692-TEU Hanjin Kaohsiung on April 5.
   The PNX 1 service deploys six Hanjin containerships with an average capacity of 2,683-TEUs. The revised port rotation will be Seattle; Vancouver, B.C.; Portland; Tokyo; Osaka; Hong Kong; Singapore; Hong Kong; Osaka; Tokyo; Seattle; Vancouver and Portland.
   In a further development, the United Alliance’s weekly transpacific China America Express service has improved its transit times from Pusan and Shanghai to Long Beach by one day, to 10 days and 9 days, respectively.
   The carriers of the United Alliance in the transpacific trade are Hanjin, Cho Yang and Senator Lines.
