Executive Moves: Port authority, Pelican, Stertil-Koni

   Bonnie Reemsnyder has been elected as chair of the quasi-public Connecticut Port Authority for the next two years and David Kooris has been tapped as vice chair.
   Reemsnyder (pictured above left) is the port authority board’s former vice chair and the first selectwoman in Old Lyme, Conn. Kooris is the deputy commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development.
   Scott Bates, the former chair, will continue to serve out his term as a member of the board.
   “The partnerships the Connecticut Port Authority has built have positioned us to make investments in projects across Connecticut that will advance the maritime economy for decades to come,” Bates said. “My decision to step down is taken with a heart full of gratitude to all who have supported our mission and with an abiding sense of optimism for the future.”
   Bates had served as chair since the Connecticut Port Authority’s inception in 2016.
   Reemsnyder is serving her third term as an Old Lyme selectwoman. She was appointed to the port authority board by state Rep. Joe Aresimowicz and has headed its finance committee.
   As deputy commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development, Kooris is responsible for Connecticut’s economic development strategy, including transit-oriented development, brownfields, capital projects, waterfront and tourism.
 
   Pelican Products Inc. has hired Christopher Favreau (above center) as vice president and general manager of operations for its South Deerfield, Mass., production plant.
   Sunil Malhorta, Pelican’s senior vice president of worldwide operations, said Favreau joins the company “with a multidimensional skill set that we believe will serve our customers and company well as we head into a promising future.”
   Favreau will manage core site functions in South Deerfield and case centers. He will be tasked with growing Pelican’s profitability, improving customer satisfaction and reducing operational costs for both standard and custom products.
   Pelican Products designs and manufactures high-performance protective cases, temperature-controlled packaging solutions, advanced portable lighting systems and rugged gear.

   Stertil-Koni announced that Kevin Boyer (above right) has joined the heavy-duty vehicle lift provider as service manager.
   In his new post, Boyer provides technical support, troubleshooting assistance, vehicle lift installation supervision and vehicle lift use training to the company’s distributors and their customers across North America.
   Boyer previously served as a sales manager and technician at BOE Marine and RV in Stevensville, Md.
   In his off time, Boyer races a street stock Chevrolet Monte Carlo in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
