Executive Moves: Gibbs & Cox, Purolator, MULR, Pelican

   Naval architecture and marine engineering firm Gibbs & Cox Inc. has appointed retired Vice Adm. Nanette DeRenzi to its board of directors. 
   DeRenzi, who retired from the Navy 2015, was the 42nd judge advocate general and served as the principal military legal counsel to the secretary of the Navy and chief of naval operations and as the DoD representative for ocean policy affairs. 
   “Nanette delivers an impressive breadth of international maritime and naval experience to our board at a time of tremendous growth,” said Gibbs & Cox President and CEO Chris Deegan. 
   DeRenzi currently is the chief operating officer of the Jefferson Consulting Group in Washington, D.C., and oversees administrative and financial functions and the firm’s day-to-day operations.
   Gibbs & Cox has engineered and designed nearly 7,000 vessels since 1929. It supports military and commercial clients in the U.S. and internationally with all phases of marine design, construction and lifecycle management.    Purolator said it is strengthening its cross-border and international capabilities by hiring Paul Tessy as senior vice president of international business. 
   Tessy will be responsible for leading the company’s international business, which includes a U.S.-Canada cross-border business, global solutions and value-added logistics services. 
   Purolator is an integrated freight, package and logistics solutions provider in Canada.
   “Enhancing our U.S.-Canada cross-border capabilities is an integral component of our growth strategy,” said Purolator President and CEO John Ferguson. “Paul is a seasoned leader in the shipping and logistics industry. His international experience of building and growing parcel businesses and developing high-performing sales and operations teams will allow us to provide a more robust product and service.” 
   Tessy comes to Purolator from DHL e-Commerce, for which he held a number of senior roles, including CEO of Latin American and Canada and senior vice president of sales and customer service. Previously, he was president and CEO of TNT Spring Americas.

   Thomas J. Clark has joined MUL Railcars Inc., a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Co. (TSE: 8593), as regional vice president.
   MULR said Clark has more than 30 years of rail industry experience and has expertise in leasing railcars to the chemical, petrochemical, petroleum and agricultural markets. He had been with GATX Corp. of Chicago for the past 20 years, most recently as vice president of sales managing the Midwest sales team.
   MULR CEO J.T. Sharp called Clark “a high-integrity, relationship-oriented professional with a wealth of knowledge and rail industry experience. Tom will have an immediate impact on the continued development of MULR as a top tier rail lessor.”

   Pelican Products Inc. has promoted Michael Bubica to director of supply chain and inventory performance.
   Bubica has been with Pelican for more than 10 years, most recently as demand, supply and distribution planning manager. In his new role, he will work closely with the sales, product management and customer service teams to better understand demand and better align supply and distribution planning to meet customer needs and Pelican’s business objectives.
