CHEMICAL SHIPPER ALBERMARLE HIRES SHIPCHEM TO AUDIT LOGISTICS    Albemarle Corp., a supplier of specialty and fine chemicals, has appointed ShipChem to audit its logistics and transportation operations.
   ShipChem is the third-party logistics company launched by Eastman Chemical Co. and Global Logistics Technologies Inc.
   ShipChem said that it to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of Albemarle’s logistics and transportation services to help the company provide better customer service and supply chain efficiencies.
   “Albemarle needed the ability to conduct a thorough, micro-level review of its entire global logistics operation without interruption to commitments we have to both external and internal customers,” said George Marshall, director supply cycle for Albemarle. “Recognizing how difficult it is to constructively self-audit your own practices that have been put in place over years, we realized we needed outside expertise,” he added.
