Central Freight Lines acquires assets of fellow LTL carrier

The Waco, Texas-based less-than-truckload common carrier’s purchase of certain assets of Wilson Trucking expands Central Freight Lines’ reach into the southeastern United States and Puerto Rico, the company said in a statement.    Central Freight Lines (CFL) has agreed to acquire “certain assets” of fellow less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Wilson Trucking Corp., the company said in a statement.
   The exact assets to be purchased and financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
   Waco, Texas-based CFL’s purchase of Wilson Trucking’s assets expands the company’s reach into the southeastern United States and Puerto Rico, CFL said.
   Established in 1926 and headquartered in Fishersville, Va., Wilson Trucking offers a full array of LTL, time-critical, and distribution services via 29 terminals in nine states throughout the U.S. Southeast and the District of Columbia.
   “This expansion to the entire Southeastern U.S. and Puerto Rico improves our long term competitive position in the LTL and distribution markets and allow us to give our customers the extended coverage they’ve been asking for,” Don Orr, president and CEO of Central Freight Lines, said of the purchase.
