Career Tracks: Crowley, Transplace and 3Gtms

Crowley Maritime Corp., part of Jacksonville, Florida-based Crowley Holdings Inc,. has realigned its marine services organization and introduced new leadership.

Crowley Marine Services, part of the company’s shipping group, will be made up of three business segments: offshore service, ship assist and tank escort, and engineering services. Jeff Andreini, Porter Sesnon and Coulston “Cole” van Gundy have been appointed to lead each unit, respectively.

Andreini, who will be based in Houston, previously was with Crowley for 35 years before becoming chief financial officer for Ardent Holdings.

Sesnon, who will be based in Seattle, worked for five years as a corporate lawyer at K&L Gates LLP before joining Crowley in 2018 as a director of business development for the company’s marine services group.

Van Gundy, who also will be based in Seattle, joined Crowley in 2006 as an engineer and most recently managed the company’s offshore energy business development.

Transportation technology and services provider Transplace has appointed Greg Sebolt as executive vice president of strategic capacity services, the company’s over-the-road truck brokerage business.

With more than 20 years specializing in third-party logistics, Sebolt has led teams in analyzing complicated supply chains to create more collaborative and cost-effective logistics strategies.

Sebolt began his career in the supply chain group of Andersen Business Consulting and has held executive leadership roles at Coyote Logistics, General Freight Services and Zengistics.

3Gtms LLC, a global provider of Tier 1 transportation management software, announced that it has expanded its board of directors.

“As 3Gtms grows and serves the complex needs of midsize and large 3PLs, shippers, brokers, carriers and others, we are building a board of visionary leaders to support our next stage of growth,” said Mitch Weseley, CEO and founder of 3Gtms.

New board members are Mark Haller, Stuart Kerr, Gary Kowalski, Paul Mercadante, Sanjeet Mitra and Gene Tyndall.

Haller is a principal of Sumeru Equity Partners. In 2012, he joined Silver Lake Sumeru, the middle-market investment strategy of Silver Lake and predecessor fund to Sumeru Equity Partners.

As CEO and owner of ISO Vision LLC, Kerr performs strategic consulting for private equity firms and helps companies develop go-to-market strategies. He previously held leadership positions at Fleetmatics, TheLadders.com and NeXT.

Kowalski most recently was senior vice president and chief operating officer of Menlo Logistics LLC. He began his career at General Motors and served in a number of executive roles focused on operations, manufacturing and logistics.

Mercadante is a managing director at Sumeru Equity Partners. Prior to co-founding the company, he co-founded and was a managing director of Silver Lake Sumeru.

Mitra also is a managing director at Sumeru Equity Partners. He too was a co-founder of Sumeru Equity Partners and was a principal at Silver Lake Sumeru.

Tyndall is executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Tompkins International. Previously, he was president of Supply Chain Executive Advisors, president of Ryder Global Supply Chain/Logistics Solutions and senior partner/leader of the Ernst & Young global supply chain management consulting practice.
