Amazon cobrará un recargo por combustible e inflación a los vendedores

La compañía añadirá una tasa del 5% a los vendedores de FBA a finales de mes

Amazon.com Inc. dijo el miércoles que añadirá un recargo del 5% por combustible e inflación a los vendedores que utilicen sus servicios de cumplimiento y entrega, la primera vez en la historia de la compañía que ha impuesto un gravamen por combustible.

En una nota dirigida a los vendedores, el minorista electrónico con sede en Seattle (NASDAQ: AMZN)  dijo que el recargo, que entrará en vigor el 28 de abril, se cobrará además de las tarifas por unidad de su servicio Fulfillment by Amazon. 

Amazon dijo en la nota que el recargo es una mejor alternativa para los vendedores que un cambio permanente en su estructura de tarifas. Añadió que, desde la pandemia del COVID-19, sus tarifas de cumplimiento y entrega han aumentado más lentamente que las de sus competidores.

Amazon ha añadido tasas para compensar el aumento de los costos en respuesta a los cambios relacionados con la pandemia en su negocio. Aunque se ha vuelto a la normalidad tras la pandemia, la empresa se enfrenta a picos de inflación, especialmente en el costo del combustible.

Mark Solomon

Formerly the Executive Editor at DC Velocity, Mark Solomon joined FreightWaves as Managing Editor of Freight Markets. Solomon began his journalistic career in 1982 at Traffic World magazine, ran his own public relations firm (Media Based Solutions) from 1994 to 2008, and has been at DC Velocity since then.
