3PLEX OFFERS WEB SYSTEM FOR 3PLS    3PLex.com Inc., an online transportation facilitator based in Cambridge, Mass., has launched its first hosted application for intermediaries servicing the trucking industry.
   The new company’s 3PLex Transportation Operating System (TOPS) offers a Web-based venue for third-party logistics providers. 3PLex.com’s initial product offering, 3PLex TruckLoad, automates order entry, load matching, load tracing and tracking, analysis and reporting.
   “The fact that the 3PL market has grown at double digits for the last 10 years indicates the importance of its services to the transportation industry,” said Benjamin Gordon, founder and chief executive officer of 3PLex.com.
   3PLex.com also said that Romar Transportation Systems Inc., a 3PL and truck carrier based in Chicago, has logged on as its first customer.
   Michael Marden, president and chief executive officer of Romar, said that “we see in 3PLex.com an immediate opportunity … to grow our business dramatically.”
