Southern Tire Mart at Pilot Keeps Fleets Moving

STMP offers personalized service solutions to meet the needs of any size fleet.

Southern Tire Mart at Pilot (STMP) is carving a niche in the trucking industry by focusing on what matters most to its customers. By expanding its network and refining its service offerings, STMP is addressing the trucking industry’s everyday challenges of finding fast and reliable maintenance with an innovative approach to customer service and logistics.

With over 90 locations across the United States, STMP is dedicated to ensuring its services are available in key regions across the country, adding 16 new locations so far this year. The growth this year means STMP’s network now reaches to more than 30 states. “Our plan to continue growing hinges on going where customers are asking us to go,” explained John Boynton, president of Southern Tire Mart at Pilot.

The strategy behind STMP’s locations goes beyond geography – it also takes into account ease of access and proximity to other services. STMP’s newest shops will be located next to Pilot’s travel centers instead of on the main property, which provides better visibility and easier access for drivers without interfering with other necessities, like truck parking spaces. These strategically placed sites will also have larger buildings with more service bays and additional storage areas to keep essential service parts in stock.

As the network grows, Southern Tire Mart at Pilot remains committed to fast, reliable service. “Knowing that time is precious for professional drivers, we focus on providing quality service quickly to get our customers back on the road,” Boynton added.

He says customer feedback has shown a significant shift towards more personalized service. The partnership between Southern Tire Mart, which has over 180 of its flagship locations nationwide, and Pilot, the largest operator of travel centers in North America, brings together two companies focused on exceptional services and experiences. The joint venture, STMP, extends the value that both companies offer to provide drivers and fleet operators with convenient and reliable services to keep their trucks rolling.

STMP’s roadside assistance is a testament to its commitment to being a trusted partner that keeps drivers on the move. Each location offers up to six service trucks to provide 24/7 mobile repair services within a 50-mile radius. If a driver runs into an issue while they are on the road, they can count on STMP to respond quickly, find a solution and fix the problem so they can get their wheels turning again.

STMP’s comprehensive service offerings are a cornerstone of its success. From preventative maintenance and tire services to DOT inspections and wheel-end assemblies, STMP provides a full suite of mechanical services designed to meet the needs of professional drivers.

“Being a trusted partner means providing not just mechanical solutions but also peace of mind,” Boynton said. “With every new location, we offer a no commitment, free-of-charge, 25-point road-ready inspection.” Driver safety is top-of-mind with this introductory offer, helping to identify any potential risks before they hit the road. It’s also an opportunity for the driver to meet the STMP team and learn more about the services that are there for them when they need it.

By listening to its customers and responding to their evolving needs, STMP will continue to deliver on what fleets and drivers need to help them manage truck tire and maintenance. When it comes to keeping the wheels turning and the engines running, count on STMP for fast, reliable and personalized services nationwide.
