HMM expanding cooperation with FESCO

   South Korea’s Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) is entering into additional space-sharing agreements with Russia’s Far East Shipping Co. (FESCO).
   HMM has been jointly operating a China-Korea-Russia weekly service under the name of CRN (China Russia North Service) with FESCO and CMA CGM.
   The company said Wednesday that service will be reorganized and two new direct services to connect South Korea and Russia will be added. HMM said that it expects the changes will result in a faster and more reliable service and allow it to strengthen its market position in Russia.
   HMM gave these details on the three routes:
   • The current CRN will change its port rotation to Qingdao-Shanghai-Ningbo-Vladivostok (Commercial Port) beginning May 14.
   • Beginning May 11, HMM will deploy a 1,000-TEU ship on the KR2 service that will directly connect Busan and Vostochny.
   • Beginning May 14, FESCO will deploy a 1,200-TEU ship on the KRS, a direct sernvice between Busan and Vladivostok.
