MAERSK SEALAND ADDS CAPACITY IN U.S./CENTRAL AMERICA TRADE

RAIL INTERMODAL TRAFFIC UP 5.3% FOR 2000    Maersk Sealand is phasing in larger ships on two of its weekly services in the U.S./Caribbean/Central America trade.
   On Feb. 11, the 400-TEU Mira J replaces the Leguan, which a spokesman for Maersk Sealand said had a maximum capacity of 150-TEUs, on the North Central America II service which started in September last year.
   On Jan. 28, a third ship, the 320-TEU America Feeder was phased into the Fashion Express II service, alongside the two existing vessels.
   The FEX II service now has a rotation of Miami, Fla.; Santo Tomas de Castillo, Guatemala; Port Everglades, Fla.; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Manzanillo, Panama; Puerto Limon; Port Everglades; Freeport, Bahamas; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; and Miami.
