Executive Moves: JAXPORT, SEKO, Gebrüder Weiss

Port has a new chairman of the board; logistics companies in the United States and Europe fill roles.    The JAXPORT Board of Directors unanimously elected John Falconetti as its chairman on Tuesday.
Falconetti is chairman and CEO of Jacksonville, Fla.-based print services provider Drummond. He previously served as JAXPORT chairman in 2014-15. He and his fellow officers will serve through Sept. 30, 2019.
Also elected were Vice Chairman John Baker, the executive chairman of FRP Holdings Inc.; Treasurer Jamie Shelton, president of bestbet Jacksonville; and Secretary Wendy Hamilton, president of Eventide Investments of Florida Inc.

SEKO Logistics has hired Ian Oliver to fill the new position of vice president of domestic operations, based at the company’s Chicago headquarters.
Prior to joining SEKO, Oliver was vice president for business development at ALG Worldwide Logistics. From 2011 to 2017, he was vice president of corporate operations for global forwarding for XPO Logistics. Earlier in his career, he spent 13 years with AIT Worldwide Logistics.

Karl Meiringer has been promoted to manager of the Gebrüder Weiss branch in Maria Lanzendorf, near Vienna, Austria. He succeeded Andreas Zwerger, who is now the Eastern regional manager.
The transport and logistics company, which was founded in 1898, has about 7,000 employees in Europe.
Meiringer joined Gebrüder Weiss in 1997 and has served as a group leader, department manager and division manager.
Zwerger joined the company in 1990. Since 2012, he has been responsible for tectraxx, a subsidiary specializing in the high-tech sector. He began his duties as regional manager July 1 and his responsibilities include the Austrian branches as well as the national organization for Slovakia and tectraxx.
About 780 people are employed at the branch in Maria Lanzendorf, at the heart of which is one of the first electric overhead pallet conveyor systems in Europe.
