The European Commission has adopted a decision formally exempting from
European Competition laws the agreements concluded within the International
Group of Protection & Indemnity Clubs.
The International Group is a worldwide association of P&I marine
insurers.
The P&I Clubs’ exemption is granted for 10 years. The EC said that the
P&I Clubs have substantially amended the agreements "to increase
competition in the maritime insurance market."
