CHINA SHIPPING FINISHES TRANSPACIFIC SERVICE

CHINA SHIPPING FINISHES TRANSPACIFIC SERVICE    China Shipping Container Lines has ended its weekly Asia America Central transpacific service and rationalized another, Asia America South, to absorb some of the ports from the former service.
The AAC service had used five ships averaging 3,029 TEUs and called at Los Angeles, Oakland, Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kwangyang, Busan, Los Angeles and Oakland.
By canceling the AAC service China Shipping has reduced the capacity in the overcrowded transpacific market by 157,508 TEUs in annual one-way capacity.
China Shipping now operates or takes space on five weekly transpacific services.
To cover some of the ports from the AAC service, the AAS service has been revised to include Ningbo, Shanghai and Busan eastbound.
The first sailing of the revised rotation will be made by “CSCL Hong Kong”, making its first call at Ningbo on Sept. 18, and Shanghai on Sept.20.
The AAS service uses five vessels averaging 4,947 TEUs and the port rotation is now Los Angeles, Calif.; Seattle, Wash.; Vancouver, B.C.; Yokohama; Ningbo; Shanghai; Yantian; Hong Kong; Hakata; Busan; Los Angeles; Seattle and Vancouver.
CMA CGM, Norasia Container Lines and Zim Israel Navigation Co. all take space on the AAS service.
The revised transit times of the AAS service is now posted on the global liner shipping database ComPairData at https://www.compairdata.com .
